Cognition Enhancement
I’m moving from underabunant.comThis is a draft I never completed based on an article which I read. I’m not sure I’d read it again. So I post it now.
Stanford Magazine has an interesting article about cognition-enhancing drugs becoming common place.
Interesting to say the least. When something like this becomes common place it’s hard to really say no. Even athletes taking steroids, an activity that has many known health problems, it’s still somewhat of given isn’t it?
I saw “To Catch a Con-Man” (yes by Chris Hanson of “To Catch a Predator” fame). He catches some Nigerian scammers in their con-man game. The con man’s response is pretty much “of course I lied”. As if, you know, it was you who were kidding yourself. It’s unethical for them to take advantage of people like this. But the excuse of “you believed it” is somehow compelling. I think a lot of professional sports stars who have bodies as thick as a tree could say the same.
“Yeah, of course, that’s how it’s done”
